Are you worried about the consequences of being overweight? You are right to be, you know what the dangers of being overweight are.
But before anything else, let’s answer your question, "am I overweight for my height?"
First, check the very simple test of Body Mass Index (BMI), then see on the table below whether it falls in a healthy weight range or not. Here’s how to calculate your BMI:

As you can see, a BMI of:
18.5 to 24.9 is considered normal
25 to 29.9 is considered overweight
over 30 is considered obese
However, you should know that your BMI is not particularly accurate as a measure of healthy weight, as it doesn’t measure the actual percentage of body fat.
So if you have relatively a lot of muscle mass, you may be incorrectly evaluated as overweight, or even obese. Why? Because muscle tissue is heavier than fat.
